What You’ll Learn
Saturday Zoo Buzz is all about learning and having fun! This adult-focused class takes place every single first Saturday of the month, and the next one will be held on January 4. If you miss that one, you have other chances on February 1 and March 7 as well, so make sure to plan accordingly to be able to come to at least one.
At the sessions, held at 9 a.m., there will be coffee, snacks, and lots of info! Come hungry and ready to learn, as each class dives into local, national, and global conservation topics. It’s $5 to come and is held at the Scovill Zoo Education Center. January’s topic will be Volunteerism, followed by February and March’s topics of Small Steps to Save the World and Zoo Recreation. Lots of important things will be discussed by professionals from around Illinois.

If you’ve never been to the Scovill Zoo, 2020 is a perfect time! It has been temporarily closed for the winter, but with the new year, they will re-open their doors. There are so many ways to get involved, and events to attend that are coming up. For example, Zoo Buzz and Zoo Buddies events are just around the corner, so check out the website and make sure you don’t miss it.
This holiday season, the zoo also recommends several ways to help wildlife: Become a member, adopt an animal, donate items for the animals, support local animal shelters, make donations to animal welfare groups, and donate to the wishlist available online!
