Eco-friendly Materials and More

Hyundai keeps the environment in mind when making its cars. The manufacturer uses vegan leather and certified biomaterials for the interior of vehicles. These materials are used for all interior surfaces, so you can rest assured that you’re in an eco-friendly vehicle when you slide behind the wheel.

Hyundai goes beyond the interior when creating eco-friendly cars. The company also uses eco-paint, so it truly makes environment-friendly cars from the inside out.

Additional Green Initiatives

Hyundai also has green initiatives to offset carbon emissions and help the environment. It uses a low-carbon manufacturing process and also builds forests to combat climate change. Plus, it has a state-of-the-art recycling program in place and uses recycled materials to make cars. When you combine these initiatives, it’s clear that Hyundai is doing its part to make the world a better and safer place.

Alternative-fuel Options

While all of Hyundai’s cars benefit from green manufacturing processes, you can take it a step further by purchasing an alternative-fuel vehicle. Hyundai currently has four types of alternative fuel vehicles available.

Fuel cell vehicles, such as the NEXO Fuel Cell SUV, run on hydrogen. Right now, the NEXO Fuel Cell SUV is only available in California, but you have other eco-friendly options in Illinois.

Hybrid vehicles are a great option if you live in Illinois. You can switch between gas and electric when using a hybrid such as the Santa Fe Hybrid or the Tucson Hybrid. You can expect outstanding gas mileage and a reduced carbon footprint when you drive one of these vehicles.

If you want to drive further on a battery, you can get a plug-in hybrid. The 2022 Tucson Plug-In Hybrid is going to make its debut in the summer of 2021. It only takes two hours to charge the battery, and it will take you up to 28 miles. If you need to go further, you can switch to gas. That makes this vehicle ideal for trips of all lengths.

Hyundai also sells electric cars. Currently, these vehicles aren’t available in Illinois, but they could come at some point in the future.

Hyundai has been increasing its alternative fuel lineup over the years and will have 13 models by 2022. That will give you more choices than ever before.
