#1 “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,” by Suzanne Collins

It’s the prequel to the Hunger Games series that details 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow’s journey through the 10th annual Hunger Games. 

#2 “Death in Her Hands,” by Ottessa Moshfegh

A suspenseful novel that involves an older woman finding a note on a walk that in turn leads to a dark obsession. 

#3 “The Vanishing Half,” by Brit Bennett

“Twin sisters, a small town, racial identity and community are all wrapped up into one narrative in this novel,” according to Today.com. 

#4 “The Comeback,” by Ella Berman

A story of an actress confronting her past and the director that once guided her life. This book will be available on August 4th

#5 “Mexican Gothic,” by Silvia Moreno-Garcia

A gothic suspense novel dealing with a debutant who rescues her cousin. The story is set in the Mexican countryside. 

#6 “Beach Read,” by Emily Henry

A story of two writers who are living in neighboring beach houses and fighting severe cases of writer’s block. 

#7 “The Jane Austen Society,” by Natalie Jenner

A group of people joins forces to preserve the decaying remains of Jane Austen’s estate and legacy. This novel is set in the time period after World War 2. 

#8 “The Guest List,” by Lucy Foley

A wedding turns bad when a guest at the ceremony turns up dead. The setting off the coast of Ireland goes from idyllic to nightmarish in this thriller. 

#9 “Home Before Dark,” by Riley Sager

A young child and her family are forced to leave a home in the woods of Vermont under mysterious circumstances. Her father later details why they left the home in his horror memoir. Many years later, the child returns to the house to see if her father was telling the truth. 

#10 “Hollywood Park,” by Mike Jollett

A memoir of the author’s time growing up in one of the most infamous cults in history.
